NOOFA for partners

Give people something useful for the objects they care about.

You bring the people and objects. NOOFA gives each object its own place.

How could you use NOOFA?

  • Invite people

Encourage members, visitors or clients to give their objects a NOOFA profile.

  • Connect the real object

Point people from the object itself to its profile, where NOOFA material is available.

  • Keep your connection to the object

Where the holder chooses, an event appearance or specialist work can become part of the object's story.

  • Bring objects together

Ordinary NOOFA links are the starting point. Ways to show related objects together may come later.

  • Connect another service

Link to a NOOFA profile instead of creating another version of the same object. Deeper connections may come later.

Who are we starting with?

  • Clubs and member groups

Give members a useful place for the objects they care about.

    • Invite members to start profiles
    • Share members' public objects
  • Events

Let visitors discover more about individual objects.

    • Point visitors to object profiles
    • Help holders record an appearance
  • Specialists and restorers

Give clients something that lasts after the work is finished.

    • Help clients start a profile
    • Let the holder record the work

Other ways we're exploring

These are ideas for later. We'd be glad to hear from you if one of them fits.

  • Publishers and content creators, letting a story point to the object itself
  • Collections, giving each object its own profile while keeping the collection together
  • Museums and exhibitions, letting visitors go deeper than the label
  • Researchers and historians, keeping useful research connected to the object
  • Apps and online services, linking to one NOOFA profile
Several specialist magazines about cars, boats, motorcycles and watches spread across a wooden table beside a notebook, pen and cup of tea.

The profile stays with the object.

The person looking after the profile stays in control.

A partner does not automatically get:

  • control of anyone's profile
  • access to private profiles or private photos
  • a list of the people who save objects
  • the right to change what a holder has written
  • any say over whether a profile is public
